Lafayette Partners in Education teams up with parents, volunteers, school districts and classroom teachers to support high priority school programs threatened by lack of regular funding, LPIE also brings specially skilled independent instructors into the classroom to share their talents and delivers extraordinary enrichment opportunities that spark students’ imaginations and ignites their dreams.

The foundation’s efforts benefit the 4,500+ students of Burton Valley, Happy Valley, Lafayette and Springhill Elementary Schools, Stanley Middle School and Acalanes High School. We fund science education, music programs, visual arts programs, foreign languages, and other
electives along with classroom aides in elementary schools, counselors, and technology to enhance education at every grade level.

Joe Terry gave a grcious donation to Samaritan’s Purse this July. Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love. Their emergency relief programs provide desperately needed assistance to victims of natural disaster, war, disease, and famine. As we offer food, water, and temporary shelter, we meet critical needs and give people a chance to rebuild their lives.
The community development and vocational programs in impoverished villages and neighborhoods help people break the cycle of poverty and give them hope for a better tomorrow.

Joe Terry wanted to support “Eric’s Corner” as part of our power fundation, with a generous donation sponsorship to the ValleyCare Health System. “Eric’s Corner” is a part of the Hop Yard Golf Tournament in Pleasanton, CA, which occured on  June 25th, 2012. Proceeds from this event will benefit Eric’s Corner at the ValleyCare Health Library, an epilepsy family resource center.

ValleyCare Health System is an intricate part of the Tri-Valley and surrounding communities, and has provided state-of-the–art, top quality health care to local families since 1961.  As a not-for-profit health system, with facilities in Livermore, Dublin, and Pleasanton, ValleyCare Health System reinvests any profit it makes into the organization for new technology, facilities and services. Being locally owned, no profits or dividends go to a parent company outside of the area and it is not supported by taxes.

GBYSL is a non-profit soccer organization. The mission of the Great Basin Youth Soccer League (GBYSL) is to provide instructional, recreational and competitive youth soccer opportunities for all young athletes that enhance character, community and love of the game of soccer. Integrated in this is the building of self-esteem, self-confidence, team work, respect for self and others, and all the inherent benefits of youth sports.  There are summer camps, winter training, clubs, tournements and Wolf Pack Soccer.  It’s a great organization for a kid’s recreational purpose.

Lisa Cummings donates graciously to Blue Dog Rescue every month.  Blue Dog finds homes for dogs through adoption events, newspaper advertisements, and postings on this website. We keep each dog for a minimum of seven days in order to assess their personality, temperament, and training needs. By doing this we are able to ensure that we place each dog in the most suitable home. Individuals interested in adopting a BDR dog must fill out an adoption application and be interviewed in order to ensure that the needs of both the individual and the dog are met.  The nature of our adoption process, home visits, and trial periods dictate that our dogs are only available to adopters in the immediate Central Texas area.  There is an adoption process available if interested.

The Reno Tahoe Odyssey is preparing for their 9th annual relay run which will be May 31- June 1, 2013. Registration begins August 1, 2012.
