Lisa Cummings Gives Treats to Her Pets

Lisa Cummings donates graciously to Blue Dog Rescue every month.  Blue Dog finds homes for dogs through adoption events, newspaper advertisements, and postings on this website. We keep each dog for a minimum of seven days in order to assess their personality, temperament, and training needs. By doing this we are able to ensure that we place each dog in the most suitable home. Individuals interested in adopting a BDR dog must fill out an adoption application and be interviewed in order to ensure that the needs of both the individual and the dog are met.  The nature of our adoption process, home visits, and trial periods dictate that our dogs are only available to adopters in the immediate Central Texas area.  There is an adoption process available if interested.

Joe Terry Helps Stop Diabetes

Joe Terry made a generous donation to the American Diabetes Association for the upcoming Tour de Cure event occuring in Dallas, Texas on July 28th, 2012.   This donation will help the Association’s research department while also helping fun programs and advocacy.

Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin. It is a disease that has deadly serious consequences, and there is no cure. In 2007, the total estimated cost of diabetes in the United States was $174 billion, which includes indirect costs resulting from increased absenteeism, reduced productivity, disease-related unemployment disability, and loss of productive capacity due to early mortality.

little sister don’t you…

Indefatigable in his inclination to inspire and dauntlessly daring as he defly deals out donations, Mike Finley is sassing his sibling by sponsoring her stalwart, spunky, steadfast sense of sight-setting to tread the toilsome trails as a member of Team Fight or Flight in the Reno Tahoe Odyssey. “Odyssey” is defined as “a long wandering marked usually by many changes of fortune”, and that certainly appears to fit the bill!

By boosting his younger (and far more attractive) sister, Mike is doing his all he can to insure we make an impact toward helping the RTO reach their fundraising goals. All contributions raised by Team Fight or Flight in this 178-mile relay race will benefit the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF).

Do Like Mike!

As we approach the home stretch of final preparations for Team Fight or Flight to run in the grueling 178-mile RTO relay race, some of us are more tireless than others. Take Mike Finley, for example. Sure he’s part of the team, and will be every bit a running fool on Friday, June 1st, but way above and beyond the quotient of blood, sweat and tears that has gone into training, he’s also helping to sponsor himself! By giving to his sponsorship fund, his contributions will go toward helping the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF). Some give all, Mike makes sure to leave a little something behind, too.

To learn more about what NNCCF does and why he’d run all through the night to help support their cause, and to find out more on the insanity that is the RTO, please visit their sites:
