Santa’s helpers, (Diane Frate and Lisa Slen), from the Darien CVI Team spent the morning of December 10th helping to create the Person-to-Person Toy Store. This is a festive event where volunteers come together and transform their community center into a Christmas Toy Store. This year P2P will be serving more than 2200 children and their families (totaling 1050) in Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, and New Canaan, CT.
Lisa helped create the toy area for the 12-15 year olds, while Diane assisted in moving the toys from their attic and basement to the community center.
P2P clients shop for their children’s holiday gifts, while the children are watching a Christmas movie in another area of the center. Each child will receive a toy, book and a family board game. Gifts are wrapped by volunteers. The Toy Store is open for three days in December.
This is a very festive event where people from other companies come together to lend a helping hand.
